For those who havent heard of the Sims, It is a Life Simulation game where the player
controls the actions of little people called sims. You control their lives with varying degree,
telling them to eat, sleep, go to the toilet all the way upto getting jobs, social interactions
and love lifes. The original game was a massive hit, spawning of seven expansion packs that added more content for the player to control and then a sequel: Sims2.
The Sims2 took the franchise even further, adding in things like different age groups, wants and fears system and you can even decide on what kind of personality each sim has by choosing their star sign. The Sims2 also spawned its own set of seven expansion packs.
The Sims Life Stories was released early 2007, which was a modified version of the Sims2 game, which requires lower computer specifications than the original, making it "PC Laptop Friendly". As far as I could tell nearly all features were included from Sims2.
When you get to the main screen of the game you are presented with three different choices: Riley's Story, Vince's Story (Which is unlocked durind Riley's Story) and Free Mode.
However the main strength of the game is in the two Story Modes, while played very similar to Free Mode, you control only one sim (Riley or Vince depending on whose story you chose) and guide them through a pre-made storyline. Riley's Story begins with her moving from Simcity to Four Corners to restart her life, where as in Vince's Story you are a millionare looking for true love. To progress through the storyline you must complete certain objectives, for example "go here" or "talk to this person" which are highlighted for you through the characters wants.
The Game is overall fairly easy, once you complete all of your objectives, therefore completing the storyline, the game reverts back to freemode. As stated before, playing Sims2 with the expansion packs wouldbe far more enjoyable than the free mode available here, however the game would suit those with lower-end computer games, or prefer the more linear storyline. Overall a fun game.
