Released in June 2003, Star Wars Galaxies was destined to be one of the leading MMO's. Based on the epic Star Wars saga, that spans movies, books, games, tv series and with a massive fan base, they sure wouldn't of been strapped for content.
Set in the time between Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope and Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes back, the players a thrown into a galaxy of chaos. Players can choose their own path, what's their profession, what faction they are with:
The Empire has been in control of most of the galaxy for the last two decades, with technical superiority and vast numbers intimidating the smaller planets.
Since the birth of the Empire, there has always been the Rebel Alliance. Unhappy with the way the Old Republic was manipulated into an evil empire. Only using what they can salvage, and discreet donations, the Alliance has always been the "Underdogs" in the Galactic Civil War, mainly relying on their ingenuity and covert existance.
Players can also choose not to be apart of either faction, and go about their business being nuetral.
Since its release the game itself has been through some massive changes, it's game play is no where near what it was when it was released, a fact that has caused it to be seen as one of the most contreversial MMO's available.
Being such a big game, i will go over each of the many features of the game in more detail over time, while also sharing recent announcements of the game as I come across them.
