Gaming Heroes: Mario

Probably one of gamings most recognisable figures today is Nintendo's mascot Mario. Originally known as "Jumpman", the Itallian Plumper from New York started life as a two-dimensional man in the classic game "Donkey Kong". Then with the launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Jumpman was renamed to Mario, after Nintendo Americas Landlord, and was given his own game along with his brother Luigi.


Since then Mario and his friends have been in alot of Video game titles, Cartoons, Comics and even a Motion Picture. Making him one of Gaming's most popular heroes.
